The difference between “love bombing” and falling head over heels for someone is seen in the answers to these questions:
Is it a deliberate attempt to manipulate you?
Is there a pattern showing the intent to manipulate?
Is there something he wants, some way he profits by this?
Taking it slow is great, because it allows you to gather information from direct observation as well as learning about the guy. Learning about his family values and culture of origin will let you know if he is treating you the way his dad treated his mom, or if he was trained to think that a gentleman is expected to behave this way, or if he was taught that you put dinners in and get sex out. Ask about former partners and prior experiences. You don't have to take it at face value, but see how he talks about them.
Even an otherwise basically good guy can have crummy training in this regard, and be totally earnest, not “love bombing” per se, but still wooing aggressively and expecting the wrong things. Ask him about that. Tread carefully.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it's love bombing. The same thing can happen even if it's not.
