How stupid is it to oppose abortion?
Controversial thought: The reason men do it behind your backs, might be because some women are indeed manipulative and cheating psycho's who would throw a temper tantrum or dismiss the 1st second the guy would propose doing a dna test.
Call it what you want, the result is the same. Your friend broke your rule (which was presented as an ultimatum, for the record) and so she suffered the consequences. You still feel bad because your rule/boundary got broken, your friend feels however she's going to feel about crossing your boundary/breaking your rule.
The only difference, imo, is that with boundaries: it doesn't FEEL like someone is trying to control your behavior… when they try to control your behavior, or at least have expectations that you will behave a certain way and then respond according to your behavior.
It all boils down to conditions and consequences and all that changes is how we feel about how they were presented. That's like the government saying “you can do whatever you want but I have a hot boundary on murdering.” They aren't trying to control your behavior, they're just telling you that if you behave a certain way, there will be consequences.
Boundaries are just a way of getting around feeling like you're trying to control others' behavior when you're really doing the exact same thing people presenting rules and ultimatums are, just less forward about it.
