I'd recommend that you don't grow complacent – keep wooing her even years down the line. A lot of people grow comfortable and assume that they've put in all the work they need to, and forget that relationships require upkeep.
That being said, you can never guarantee that one of you won't fall out of love. That's just life.
Yeah, I have the same dynamic with my bf. It’s rough. He just wasn’t aware of a lot of the things I went through, but the more I’ve opened up to him the more empathetic and understanding he’s been about everything. Ironically, I will graduate school in a few months and be making more money than him. It’s hard, but you can make it work if you want to. I still make fun of him about his upbringing all the time though lol
