   Call the hotel and say your his assistant and need the receipt to do his expenses. Say you’re his NEW assistant, and the previous girl didn’t leave you any information so you don’t know the dates of his stay. They should be able to look it up and email it to you. You can see 1. When it was and 2. What was charged to the room.

2. You effectively put your husband in a no-win situation:

   Either he gets you food, and “risk” getting berated for wasting money “when food was promised to be cooked”, or

   Doesn't get you food, and you're somehow still upset at him (this is what you did, OP).

   The latter shouldn't have happened, because you explicitly said you were going to cook food. That was what your clearly communicated to your husband. He is not a mind-reader, and can't assume that you want food when you said you didn't want any because you were going to cook. It's bonkers to get upset and fight when you clearly told him something but you expected something else instead. It sounds like the problem is (for this case) that you were not communicating properly. I think you (and perhaps your husband) can benefit from improving how to communicate, because it's absurd to expect romantic gestures when there was no precedent to even set one up.
