2. I am prepared to be down voted here but I think you are being a bit short sighted here.

   I saw your comment that you have known her for 14 years and been together for 9. You also say she is very caring and kind and it sounds like you really love her.

   And yet you are willing to risk all that for a hypothetical divorce that may never come.

   Its only money. It's not even important. Save your battles for things that matter.

   I could lose every dime I have tomorrow and I know for a fact I would be fine because I know how to make money. Money will always come and go.

   I certainly wouldn't risk what could be a lifelong relationship over a few bucks

   But that's just me.
