I think this is not the person for you and here’s why. You’re never going to be perfectly mentally healthy. And the reason why is because there is no human being on the planet who is 100% at peace with themselves. We all have issues, and some of us are actively dealing with them as best we can, like you. Your boyfriend, on the other hand clearly has issues, but he thinks of himself as someone who is at peace with himself and and has no problems. If that was truly the case, he would be able to be supportive of you. If he was as 100% mentally healthy as he perceives himself to be.
The red flag here is that he wants someone who has absolutely no issues in their life. And that’s an impossible standard to on-line up to for anybody, but it’s especially impossible for someone who has an eating disorder. Do you want to live! with the fear of his disapproval if you have flareups of your disorder?
It may be, that he was in a relationship in the past where somebody was struggling with some mental health issues, and he’s determined never to do that again. And if that’s the case, then again, you’re not a good match for him because you have mental health issues.
