2. So I read your full post and this is exactly what my girlfriend does.

   When it happens to you, and you don't like saying no or making a fuss, then I think generally you try everything you can to fix whatever your SO has identified as the problem, and validate their feelings etc. That's what I do.

   However reading about all this happening to someone else has made me realise they're making it up as they go along. Its actually really manipulative, and when you say “what about my autonomy/what I need” you're absolutely right to ask that question because in a relationship with this sort of person its only their autonomy and needs that will truly matter. There is no middle ground or equal.

   3 years into the relationship with my similar sounding SO and after so many of these conversations I've learnt to become numb to my own needs and no longer feel like they matter. Well done on recognising this, I think you should see if she can acknowledge this behaviour and if not end things before the same happens to you.
