   I mean…yeah, it does. If you’re broken in some way and are working on it continually, like therapy and medication, that shows effort. If you then fucked up and immediately tell the truth, that’s what makes you a decent person.

   He was wrong telling my son though because my son is too young to understand.

   You’re the last person who gets to decide what’s “wrong” or right. You lost that privilege the second you fucked someone who wasn’t your husband, then tricked him into raising another man’s child. Your son deserves to know why “Dad” is leaving or possibly signing away all parental rights. You just feel shitty that your son knows what a sleazebag you are now, and that he’s avoiding you. You’ll be lucky if he doesn’t hate you for the rest of his life, and the only one responsible for this outcome is you. He’d have found out sooner or later.

3. That will do it! Diversifying your experiences also has the benefit of helping you deepen your social connections in a new place. It is daunting and frankly exhausting building a social life from nothing when you relocate, but if you can make it happen, it’s a huge confidence boost to know you can land anywhere and make a life for yourself.
