Honestly she could’ve been just wanting to not hurt your feelings, and assumed you’re on social media and would see it. I’ve had friends be very upset that I was in town and I didn’t hit them up. It’s possible she was being an asshole, but if she normally isn’t, it could be that she was trying to look out for your feelings.
Because romantic relationships are not the entire sum of a person, if his life choices mean he wants some other path, it just means he wants you both on your own path and like you can wave to each other/be friends, but you just aren’t on the same path anymore. Sometimes love isn’t enough to overcome issues in life and it doesn’t mean you did anything wrong, just that you came to a point where your paths diverged.
