You're fighting fire with fire, imo. She's coming at you very hot, and you're returning it with a very military approach (i.e. you can't do this in my house). You clearly have a lot of respect for authority, which you absolutely needed in your line of work, but it sounds like you might need to be the first one to attempt to connect with your partner's feelings in order to avoid escalation.
If you don't have the capacity for that, maybe you just chalk it up to being a bad fit. Pulling rank doesn't normally work at home unless you're with someone who has the same values as yourself. With the toxicity she's experienced, she likely isn't going to receive this approach well.
If you want it to work out, I highly recommend couple's counseling. A lot is getting lost in translation between you two, and if this is going to become a sustainable relationship, you both need to learn how to communicate healthily.
That’s a much MUCH broader issue than this trip. You need to determine where you are in your relationship and why things are like this. Is it a cultural thing? Ten years and not even having tried living together is unusual.
