The fact you want kids and he doesn't? That's compatibility. If a guy doesn't want kids, I stop seeing them because I know I'm not compatible with them. You say your willing to give up a family and having kids, but I can guarantee in another 10 years you will begin to resent him, especially with others around you start having kids, you'll remember what you are missing out on. And if you end up pressuring him for a kid he doesn't want? He'll resent you both.
Its great you guys have been together for 10 years, but it's okay to admit you both want different things in life.
