I was spanked as a child and keep mostly an amazing uselessness memory of it. Not hurting, mostly scary but not enough for trauma so it was greatly useless. I don't think it can do anything else but give you peace and quiet for an evening and short-time humuliate your child if it's done “right”, or greatly hurt them if it's done “wrong”. My opinion.
OP should mainly watch if he's not “really hitting hard” at least. But not much can be done. He could also learn a real way to punish his daughter, that would help.
So, your parents kick you out (not the first time if I read correctly), threaten to kick you out constantly – so much that you expected it, blackmail you with paying for your schooling and raising you (which they are legally obligated to do, aren't they) and then they try to convince you…. they did none of those things?! Yeah, you need to block them and go nc for as much as you want.
You can salvage the friendship if she comes to you and sincerely apologizes. Otherwise – no. She sucks.
