As shitty as it feels, you're violating his informed consent by keeping this from him. Even if it wasn't cheating (and I agree – it's not) if you know something that the would change the other person's mind and you withhold that information you're lying by omission in a serious way.
Thank you for your advice, I think I should be able to hold it off until he returns.
I just feel so stressful and alone having to deal with all the emotions by myself. 🙁 I feel like right now I'm just pretending/forcing myself to be upbeat and cheerful when he sends me pictures from his vacation. And that makes me feel very insincere.
