This guy is trash. He’s extremely immature and selfish.
Something that girls aren’t taught enough is that men are BIG on fantasy. Many men have a girl that they fantasise about and they emphatically won’t ever want to commit to her and make it real. It could be a girl from decades ago who they haven’t spoken to since they were a kid. It can be a girl they never really knew. If you ever suspect or learn that you are that girl from the past to a guy you need to slow down and let him show real effort that he’s willing to make the fantasy real and put in the effort. You can’t meet these guys half way. It’s really really important in these kinds of situations, they need to go out of their way to demonstrate that it’s not some imaginary fantasy.
I think he’s someone who runs away from all of his problems and he fantasises about women to do so. He’s only 24… does he have a career? Savings? Is he financially stable? Has he graduate college? How has he been married divorced and engaged again (to a 22 year old??) imo this is insane. That couple is probably too young to have a successful relationship. The poor girl is being taken for a ride in my opinion, just to fulfil his fantasy of being in a relationship.
In my opinion he’s a big dreamer, and he romanticises the idea of commitment. But he has never been truly committed. First he was married to a woman because she reminded him of an entirely different woman (you). Next he was dating a girl but couldn’t see himself marrying her (a bit of a dramatic conclusion considering he couldn’t have possibly gotten to know her). And thirdly, you’re suddenly the woman of his dreams who he wants to marry after years of no contact. This guy has never gotten to know someone and put in the effort to be known and develop real intimacy. His grand gestures and future projections are just a massive distraction from his fear of intimacy and authenticity.
Seriously I know you must be upset and confused right now. He’s an asshole. But this guy is too stupid for any woman. He’s like Ross from Friends.
