1. You know the most obvious answer to this and the way your life is structured. You simply do not have time to maintain a relationship.

   I guess it's why so many people in your profession rarely have successful relationships unless they are with someone who has either been in that space, works in that space or has the mental strength to on-line their own life whilst you flit in and out of it.

   Having met a few people who do what you do, I envy them for their dedication, but I also don't envy them for the cost they pay to do it.

   I don't have the time and energy for such stupid little insignificant drama.

   The thing to understand though is that to you it's insignificant, to him it's very significant. You are both in different places in your life and neither is suitable to the other.

   Healthy relationships isn't about “control”. He shouldn't control you, you shouldn't control him. Relationships should be about sharing, and finding solutions to problems together.

   Your boyfriend decided to change a recipe in an attempt to make it better. It didn't become better, and I think you and him agree the change failed. Now you both know.

   This should NOT be a big deal. If you are that much of a control freak, you need help and therapy to let problems go.

   If this upsets you so much that you have to shut down, talk to a therapist. And depending on how long you've been with your boyfriend, you may have emotionally abused him as well with your needs to control.
