You are no one's savior and cannot make an adult chose better for themselves. You don't have to be a martyr in order to help others. Adults will chose to better themselves with or without you. Yea I mean, I guess I recognise it's superficial, but I also just think everyone is to some degree.
I suppose you're right and I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with my feelings. However, I do recognise how awful it sounds and how hurtful it would be to her. I guess why I ask, even though from my perspective I feel like it sucks but it's just life, is I basically want to know if people think that position is nuts. Like I'm wondering if I put this out in the world and the vast majority of people think it's pathologically vain/judgemental etc, then maybe I have a problem which would be cause for reflection
