Dude I think people are being absolutely way too harsh here and it almost feels like he got his best friends to come on here to support him in the way the people are defending this guy that they don’t know and being so unkind to you. I don’t agree with them. I don’t think you’re perfect in this but I think this is one of those nights where you came on here at the wrong time to get some advice or support and got the worst of Reddit instead. I would really not take any of this into account what they’re saying because it’s not helpful or really reasonable or rational. It’s just nasty.
People are complicated works in progress including you and this guy that we don’t know and so for that reason alone these really undiplomatic and harsh comments are not worth even taking into account honestly. No one here is being reasonable at all. In fact I wouldn’t read any more comments going forward. Just because you’re not perfectly behaved and just because you have some issues that get in the way of your interactions with people does not mean you deserve to be mistreated by somebody ultimately who has asked you to be yourself despite knowing all these things. I don’t know why people would support that. Feels bullying to me.
You were encouraged to trust someone and you did and he flipped on you and Im sorry. Its hard to trust especially when your own mother has rejected you in the past. It sucks when people do a 180 unexpectedly and of course it’s upsetting and it doesn’t make sense that he would say he’ll be around for a long time two days before this exam studying begins which is apparently his reason for breaking up. I would be confused as well and nobody here knows this guy or can explain why that happened accurately and furthermore even if the answer was that he just didn’t have time well then he shouldn’t of said the thing he said before and it doesn’t matter why he said it, it was wrong to say something that he didn’t mean and then to leave you confused. There is a right and wrong way to handle things like this and people are overlooking the fact that he handled this wrong just so that they can vilify you. So there’s no excuse for his behavior and you have things you need to work on but people here just need to chill out.
You aren't looking for help. You're looking for someone to say it's ok that you've been lying to her, leading her on. Break up with her. Period. Before she moves.
