Yes. You’re exactly right. She is a single mother to 4 children and her own situationship so I’m sure even if she wanted to take him in, she couldn’t.
I didn’t include this above but my husband also has a life threatening chronic illness that had been untreated and fine for nearly 7 years but flared about 2 years ago. I helped him get into treatment with a specialist and am his caretaker when he has a seizure. I try not to bring it up because I don’t want to immaculate him but he’s started mentioning it more to others as almost a point of pride in our relationship. I think that does show even more that he loves what I do for him but I hope provides some additional context for others as well. He’s almost died multiple times throughout our relationship and I was the only person who was there every time.
