2. I thought ewwwww FOR YEARS afterwards, but orange juleps are legit delicious, so counterintuitive as it is, it apparently works! (How the milk doesn’t curdle in the official drink I do not know)

   I guess I think that there’s no shame in being proud of inventing a thing, even if you weren’t the first person to do so, because you still did get there on your own, but it’s silly to get defensive about it, or snooty. Like ‘I like to mix vodka, lime, and ginger ale’ ‘that’s a Moscow mule’ ‘ha, no way, really? We’ll go me, I guess’ vs ‘this is my special drink I came up with, and it’s special and a secret because it is mine!’

   And yeah, it’s pretty safe to assume that any food or drink idea you come up with is probably something someone else in human history came up with too.

   Is a gun and tonic tonic served in a gun? Would give a new meaning to ‘food safe violation’ for sure
