Yes, it's visceral. And you bring up several good points about family and friend dynamics. Like if my childhood bestie took up with my parent I don't think I'd be able to be the same kind of friend to them on any level, even if I were okay with their relationship. No one's saying it should be illegal to hook up with your friend's relative but people need to realize shit is going to change and, in many cases, for people outside the couple they had existing relationships with.
I call BS. If you find you can’t stop thinking about it, ask the person questions about your wife. Not the alleged affair, but personal things a good friend would know but that you can’t just Google. What car does she drive, nickname she goes by, etc. There’d be no reason they can’t answer them and confirm they really know your wife unless it’s a troll (which it 99.9% is).
