Make (27 here) so perhaps I can have some relatable insight here that it seems so many are lacking. In short, I think you should do what you want and are comfortable with. Some people get married with their parents permission and some get married after knowing each other for a fraction of the time you two have. It’s all relative and you shouldn’t make your decision on how others feel you should go about YOUR decisions.
Personally i would agree that 5 months is very soon but then again he was just introducing the concept. Communication is important wouldn’t we agree ? I think that route is much better for both of you than him just suddenly proposing and putting you in a spot where you have to agree/disagree to life long consequences without even having the chance to mull it over, you know? Virtually nobody in my family is married and even to me (even though I want it) marriage is still a monumentally large endeavor to undertake.
