I can understand being upset about his lying, but considering that your reaction to him being a virgin is apparently “ick” I can sort of understand why he might.
And frankly, the extent of someone's sexual history, whether vast or minimal, is a silly thing to get hung up on. The concept of virginity is ridiculous for a variety of reasons, anyway.
