I'm in therapy currently and am working on my issues. I've also been in denial for a long time that there was an inherent problem with me as a person, which is something I've now come to accept . As for why I'm in this relationship, I love him and see him as my life partner, despite the fact that things are so difficult. I've told him that I understand if he leaves and I won't fight him, but also that if he stays I'll turn my behavior around (I'd do that regardless of how our relationship goes). I don't want to make the decision for him and potentially harm him further. He's told me that leaving would be selfish, which I guess also encourages me to stay. Everything is really fresh so Im not sure where things will go, but I know I'm a severely fucked up person who has a lot of growing up to do no matter what happens.
