Makes you wonder if he’d ever think “well if it’s a stranger then I’m against it but if it’s a friend it’s ok so therefore it would be ok if I do it because my friends do it”.

i had a friend who started near the bottom of a restaurant. after a few years, he's now the general manager. partially it's because of his work ethic. as you can guess, in the restaurant, there may be a lot of average workers, and a few superstar workers.
however, it wasn't just that he did really good at his duties outlined for him in his role. he actually took on other duties as well. this is why upper management recognized that he was a good candidate to move up and up.
i feel like this is where you are.
you can try to find another job — you might be find one with better pay, very likely find one with less duties.
you can stick it out and gain some knowledge and skills and then move on to jobs that use those skills. many times, what we study for in college or trade school, isn't what our career ends up being. it's more like what our own drive and skills end up getting us. a good example is how 2 people gain the same degree, and 1 ends up as a manager, one ends up as an underling.
to answer your question, you can absolutely try to negotiate a raise. just be ready for the positive or negative results of asking for that raise.
It seems to me like she is on a power trip. There's nothing more to the story tho?
