The age gap may not bug you, but it probably bugs him. I'm 30 & when I'm around people your age, I can definitely tell the difference in maturity, life experience etc. It's not the worst age gap ever, but it's enough for some people to just not feel comfortable with it.

He’s an alcoholic or as they call it these days: a person with alcohol use disorder.
Whatever it’s called- it’ll be more of the same but worse as time goes on. The list phone nights will turn into DUI nights. The peeing the bed and love bombing will turn into hateful expressions of frustration once the honeymoon period wears off.
There’s an alanon subreddit you could post in to get the perspective of people who have a relationship (either familial or romantic) with alcoholics. They’d have better perspective than here.
