this is really good advice thank you! the pettier arguments are just me bringing something up and him not liking it (like oh wow that girl is well fit) so it results to that. it sounds like i start all the arguments but that's not the case, whenever he brings something up i try my best to understand and communicate and resolve whatever is wrong. it just doesn't happen the other way round
in terms of where the conversation goes from there, i do apologise for making him feel that way (but not for saying how i feel) and try and resolve, but he just shuts down for me and doesn't talk or anything. it's very frustrating.
