   But yes, if you don't mind profiting off of other people's labor and getting rich by making sure your renters stay poor, Dave Ramsey has some solid financial advice.

   There's no right way to do your household finances. My wife and I both put everything we earn into a joint account like your boyfriend wants but that's because we chose to do it that way. We could have picked a different way and made it work too, just with a little more paperwork and math involved. It doesn't matter how you do it, it only matters than you both agree.

   This is obviously important to both of you. You each feel the other is ignoring what you're feeling and even starting to worry about each other's motives. You need to solve this, now, before it grows too big to solve.

   How? I don't care. Your way is fine. So is his. Neither way is inherently better than the other. Some middle way is fine, too. It doesn't matter how you settle this, it only matters that you're both on the same page. A spouse that spends or saves money differently than you do is relationship poison.
