Even with his name on the title, if yall divorced, courts would order if not amicable, only one person owns the house. That would automatically go to you since he wouldn't have the credit to refinance the mortgage in his name. Been through this with my ex, it was a relatively easy process.
Secondly, if you separate from him, you don't owe him living expenses. Worst case scenario is divorced, your location is a 50/50 no fault state, meaning you would owe him alimony based off the years salary difference he was working, plus the 5 years he hasn't worked. And then alimony would only continue for roughly half the amount of years you were married. So if married 8 years, alimony would most likely last 4-5 years. My guess is he probably wouldn't be entitled to no more than $400-$600/mo, AT MOST.
His living arrangements isn't your problem. Your lawyer will tell you to file divorce, you keep your ground in home & don't back down. Force him into a position to move out, it looks better on record for you.
