3. I’ve had these kinds of conversations with past girlfriends of mine and it makes me so sad. This woman is not the first woman I’ve dated that cared a lot about her appearance, but I do think she’s the first to be unhealthily obsessed with it. And it’s really sad that those double standards are ingrained in you as well, as far as “being thin but being cool and eating a burger” and the other things you mentioned. In this kind of messaging, I can see why women say they can’t win. I just don’t want y’all to think that that’s what every man in society also thinks or expects of you.

   I understand there are a lot of men that say they think natural looking women are attractive and will tell their girlfriends that, and don’t actually mean it it deep down. But I truly do. I’m not going to say I don’t care about physical appearance, but I find confidence and security with one’s self to be more attractive than physical appearance. This is why I’d rather be with a woman that doesn’t put as much effort into her appearance, but knows who she is and is confident regardless (as long as still hygienic of course). And I know I’m not the only guy out there that thinks like this.

   I know my one opinion isn’t going to change much in the grand scheme of things, but I did want to say that at least.
