  1. My parents had a similar problem, my mom was doing all the work and dad wasn't helping out, she confronted him, stated the obvious and told him if he wasn't going to consider helping out then he should leave her house until he wanted to pay his own way, (he was gone for 3 days) I think confronting him would help. I think he is stressed out because he hasn't planned anything out yet and nothing he wanted went as he thought it would. I think you should ask and help him as a supportive gf and try to make out a plan that he could follow instead of ask him what he's going to do. Sometimes they need a multiple choice quiz and not a short answer one lol! (Being a guy myself I should know)

  2. i'm a bit confused. I stated in my post I'm on the fence with bachelor/bachelorette parties – and not against it. I know usually this is funded by bridal party/family. I thought a bridal shower is literally a day for the bride to be given gifts, kind of like a baby shower. The last one she was invited to was exactly this. There was an engagement party 8 months earlier, then the bridal shower, then the bachelorette party a month after, then the wedding a few weeks after that. I just found it over the top.

She is not lavish usually, I don't think I communicated well. She doesn't want a bridal shower either or gifts either. The wedding – due to the amount of people, venue, decorations etc. is kinda expensive. But whatever, I can deal with that. She's actually quite happy with my requests, but she is against the wording. It's just in my experience for previous invites the wording has always been 'your presence is the greatest gift, here's a wishing well though.' I find it disingenuous and feel weird with it.
