I just want to point out here that while this looks to be on the surface an obvious scam, I hope your roommate knows that scammers can play the long game and it’s not necessarily the type of scam you think it is. Even if this person is the person you see in the pictures, being a pretty face doesn’t mean they were honest about everything else. I hope he is very careful. The moment you catch feelings for someone, caution can go out the window.
