Ok so it violated some boundaries. Clearly she didnt think it through however lets NOT forget that SHE told him. If she thought it was wrong or would upset him I seriously doubt she would have told him. I think the awakening was when he switched the plot and then she saw the wrongness of it. May be a good time to talk about boundaries but lets not forget; she brought it up to you so I honestly dont think she thought it through. She’s not a psychopath … but you are. Which is why you refuse to accept that everybody 100% understands what you did to your daughter (especially). Your “good boy, non-back-talking, compliant son” is acting exactly as a result of how you raised him. Maybe you have lots of grandchildren already? When he got teenaged girls pregnant. But you don’t know about them because he gave every boy the name ‘Jacob’ and every girl baby his sister’s name. So you wouldn’t find out. Like he learned from you about how to hide illegitimate children.
When he cheated/lied to me it was a good while before this all happened and was in the past but had had an emotional impact on me and my confidence suffered massively. Months later, before I became involved with this other person, I would cry to myself if my boyfriend was even in the same room alone with another woman. I was a mess. I had 0 confidence from it all. Yes they should get a lawyer – also the parents need to really understand what this “loan” is and what rights they want for repayment if things go south. A lawyer should discuss this with them as well.
For example in the US a private individual lender cannot be listed as having a secured mortgage on the real property because of securities law – and instead would need to either be unsecured or need to have an ownership share of the property on the deed. If the marriage goes south they need to know the extent they are protected.
