I’ve had genital herpes for roughly 15 years now. No, it’s not the end of the world or your love life in any capacity, though it can feel like that in the moment when you’re first diagnosed.
However, it’s crazy not to let someone know. I understand going on a few casual dates to gauge if it’s someone you’re interested in or to not dump that shit awkwardly right out the gate. I also understand how scary it can be to face rejection from someone you really like and how facing the stigma attached with it can be so daunting. But you have to do it.
Everyone who has genital herpes should take some time to wrap they’re brain around it, accept it, and build themselves back up. There is to much info and support at this point online for ignorance to be an excuse. There are so many tiktok and YouTube creators who openly discuss having genital herpes. Hiding that from your partner for a whole year, showing a lack of character or empathy, is a really bad place to be. To actively lie to someone who cares for you for a whole year shows what type of shit she’s capable of.

I dont want to fix her I want to help her a little bit. I mean except for this she is very sweet and kind. I feel love the way I am and apreciated.
But when we fight she gets mean and cold. Shuts me down and doesnt wanna talk about it so it doesnt happen again. She gives me half hearted apologies and if I dare to question it she accuses me of calling her a liar. She always make sure the fight is over text which is naked for me cus i tend to missunderstand texts (im severely dyslexic, its worse when im emotional) and everytime I call her she shuts me down.
I try to be sweet and kind even when she is being mean but it doesnt work. I even tell her how I feel it doesnt seem to bother her. I say stuff like “baby come one lets fix it” “ik you are upset i am too so please lets get it over with love” “Ik your mad but please know i love you” while i get cold answers. I mostly do that out of desperation because I dont know what to do.
She also expects from me to figure it put all by myself. Figure out how to fix the problem if I ever dare to ask her how can I change my behaviour to prevent a future fight she gets mad. I cant read into her mind .
There is also something that came to my mind. She gets cold and wierd. So naturally I ask if something is wrong, which she responds with “all good” “dw”. But everytime she acts like that something is indeed wrong. I just find out about it severale days/weeks later. So I tend not to believe her when she tells me that which makes her angry because “i call her a liar”.
