to be fair, i took his comment to mean he didn’t think it was okay to call his significant other his partner because he didn’t know if that was reserved for same sex couples, not that he balked at it because of the association. kind of like “pillow princess” is reserved for the lesbian community, i took his comment to mean he thought of it that way, obviously i know and now he knows that’s not the case, but i don’t think that specific comment was “telling” or wrong of him, i think he just didn’t know that was acceptable.
