I think this is totally valid. Putting the bluntness and potential autism aside, in general I have many friends but I know that not all of them necessarily vibe individually with each other. Friends from work have different personalities than friends from college, etc. So I can see many scenarios where I’d rather hang out with those groups separate instead of getting everyone together and worrying about them getting along or feeling awkward.
