She lied for herself, she hooked up with the same dude twice so it definitely wasn't a drunken mistake. Alcohol just makes people more likely to do things they want to do sober but know they shouldn't, she knew she be hooking up with the dude but she did it twice. She told her then best friend about it but kept it from you. None of her actions, with regard to this event, have been about what is best for you, it's been about want she wanted to do to feel good for herself.
