I meant my last comment as a tool you could use to logically explain why you two should also go to couples counseling instead of saving and investing the money elsewhere. Using logical arguments with your partner is the best way to get him to understand you.
As for your living situation, again there is plenty of logic as to why it would be preferable to just be two peas in a pod rather than have a third wheel to deal with if you can make the economics of it all work.
The thing is I feel like I give him all that I am. I feel like I am the one always reaching out to him. I am taking care of our home. I am scheduling and planning and organizing everything we do. I take care of him if he is sick. I encourage him to do the things he loves. I am the one engaging in interaction between us, from simple conversations, sex, activities etc. But may be because these things aren’t tangible gifts or huge acts of service there’s not really anything to show for it.
