He might have. Condoms are amongst the least effective methods of protection against unwanted pregnancy. They're great to protect against STDs, but not a surefire way to prevent pregnancy.

So I’m confused. If my older sister needed a place to stay, my boyfriend and I would provide it, no questions asked. It’s just short term, until she can get on her feet.
Now, I get the place is small. I understand not wanting someone else around constantly in a small space. But lease is up in a month. You can neither move into a big enough place for the three of you, or (since it’s probably short term for your sister) help her with a place with still living with your gf?
I’d say pick your sister. I’m the last person to say “blood is thicker than water” and all that bullshit, you owe no one anything. But she’s family that you care about, with no other apparent options. And it sounds like your gf can afford to on-line on her own and support herself.
If your gf is going to leave when things get tough – if after five years together, her only solution for a problem is to split, then it might be for the best. I’m with someone who’d do anything for my family, as I’d do anything for his – because we love and support each other, no matter what. After 5+ years together, it’s not his or my family, it’s our family now.

FWIW, I had to quit a job who kept pressuring me to come into the office during covid during shut downs and then fought me over unemployment telling a bunch of hurtful lies made to sound legitimate by private things I told them about myself over 8 years.
I realize that now. And I will never do something like this again.
