1. Texting someone non stop is exhausting for some people. The worst thing to happen to society is instant messages in the palm of our hand.

3. I can relate and understand. I don't have many friends outside of work and spend most of my days just talking to family, if anyone.

   You have to do what is best for yourself and not let fear dictate what you will do, whether it be regarding this or anything else in life. There are ways to make friends your age. Just need to be creative. Sometimes, it's worse for both if staying in a relationship like the one you described instead of ending it. And if it becomes mutual, perhaps you can stay friends.
