I will swap the genders. My boyfriend “pretty much” lived with me as well. He actually lived an hour away with his mom, but he worked part time so only went home on the days he worked. So he was at my house 4 or 5 days a week, even when I wasn't there because I worked every day. My nephew and sister lived with me as well. She worked, nephew went to school so it was just him at home for most of the day then I'd come home in the evening. He'd help out, cook dinner a lot, clean things, etc. I never asked him to. Despite some of our water and electric bill being him since he was the only one home all day, and of course he ate our snacks and sometimes leftover food, I never once expected him to contribute to any of my bills or groceries. Not once did I even think to suggest it. He didn't live! there! If it was that big of a deal, I wouldn't have invited him over as often as I did. He even had his own freaking key. But he didn't pay rent. He didn't buy groceries. OP said himself “she lives at home with her dad” OP invites her over because he probably doesn't wanna go to her house where her dad is. Which is fine, but then he needs to either suck it up and go to her house or stop inviting her over if he has an issue with groceries and utilities. She doesn't live there. Even “pretty much” isn't good enough.
