And, OP should believe someone when they show their true colors. My husband likes to argue. That was a super red flag for me when we started to get closer, but he’d guilt me into staying. And the arguments were kinda like OPs. He’d be super upset and tell me we shouldn’t be together because I did whatever it was that upset him. Then after a week of arguing with me and making me feel like shit, he’d “get over it” and go back to “normal”. Which I realize now was his normal…until the next argument.
The fact that he says he’s disgusted by something totally normal and then trying to punish you…know and believe that this is his normal. He will treat you like this whenever you do something he doesn’t agree with. And don’t be like me and let it get to the point where you ignore yourself and what you want and know to be right.
I think you should confront this by realizing this now, knowing it’s not ok, and finding someone who respects you and doesn’t judge you like this dude does. Learn from my mistake.
