The only thing that sounds like an issue here is you shutting down and taking the car over just seeing him playing a game with the opposite sex. It doesn’t sound like you tried to introduce yourself or join in on the game or conversations. It’s fine if it rubs you the wrong way, but irrational to let it ruin your mood and cause you to go home. I suggest individual therapy to talk about this and whatever the past transgressions are and find a better way to communicate with him.
