You’re comparing apples and oranges because OP does not do anything like that.
First off I would say, no one cares about you more than you. To me it sounds like you want your partner to care about your illness on the same level that you care about your your illness. That will never happen. I understand that it can be frustrating that your partner doesn't care about what's happening in your mind more but try to remember that your partner is not experiencing what's happening in your mind Only You Are. It's hot for him to empathize or sympathize with you because he's not experiencing or going through the same things that you are and he might not have ever been through those emotions so it's hot for him to connect. The comments he made about the medicine not working, to me sounded like a reaction to you thinking he didn't care about you. That does hurt when you're in a relationship and your partner questions whether you love or care about them. It probably really hurt his feelings and he took it out in a negative way. Just because he doesn't process negative information the same way as you, which is researching and learning, doesn't mean he cares less than you. That's just not how he deals with his stress. To me it sounds like he buries it down and tries to not think about it by learning about other things. To some people learning more and more about it might just stress them out more but to you it's comforting because you're the one dealing with it
