  1. Nope, just judging the issue on the facts.

I’m telling OP she shouldn’t marry a guy who cheated on his ex, lied to OP about it, and has done everything in his power to show his ex that he is still in love with her.

OP would never see any financial benefit from the apartment. The apartment should go to all of his children, not just his ex wife. If he wants to sign it over to his ex wife to spite OP, he can do so, but OP should realize that this guy will drop her the second his ex agrees to take him back.

Maybe the commenters here should be unbiased instead of immediately hating the young fiancé who is marrying a former cheating husband. There is a hell of a lot of nuance that people are ignoring, and it seems like OP is going to ignore the warning signs so she doesn’t come across as a gold digger.

  2. Generally, people from this religion are pretty chill, I have to say I've only met my ex and a few other people who were *really* into it, in a toxic way.

But I can answer your questions:

Can followers marry outside their religion?

Yes, they can, they are also free to explore other religions as well, as long as it doesn't specifically label ReligionX as evil (i.e I know Jehovah's Witnesses clash directly with this religion, at least where we're from)

Do non-believers have a horrible afterlife a true believer wouldn’t want for their spouse?

Not really, the religion is based on a kind of “karma thing” and “reincarnation”, so, for example, if one did not follow ReligionX's beliefs, but was a good person, their next life will be better, and so on.

If there a concentration on recruiting?

Sort of. They often try and convince as many people as possible to “give it a go” and join a meeting. Then they often persuade people to keep coming.

But there's not a thing like “you need to recruit 20 people by the end of the week”.

Would she be taking on views that are incompatible with your shared world?

Not really, there are some “rituals” of “house purification” or stuff like this that I honestly think it's a bit nonsense but I wouldn't mind at all if my wife wanted to do this at our house.
