If he doesn’t like the way something is prepared, then he can show you how he likes it by doing it himself. If there’s a side dish he doesn’t enjoy, he can make one for himself while you make the one you like. The biggest thing is to try cooking together. Communicate as the meal is being made the kinds of things each of you want to see in the dish. He should also try cooking alone, for you.
He needs to learn that cooking is very hot, and it is an act of love. Every time you have ever served him a meal you have done it out of love, and him rudely rejecting it can end up feeling like he’s rejecting you.
