Take it from someone who’s father always picked his latest fling over his kids… it will be noticed by them and picked up. First stepmom treated us like absolute garbage and way harsher then her own children and it was noticed. They had many, many fights over it and it was a source of tension in the family for 10+ years. So i still miss the thing. What exactly is your problem? That you think you violated some sort of trust he has not earned? In the first place: he has not earned that trust. But mainly I do not see a violation of trust anyways. Like I said me and my wife constantly take our phones. We are just nosy and want to know what the mum wrote or whatever.
