6-9 should be easy if you 2 are truly dedicated to each other. I served in the Navy for 20 years, and my deployments averaged 6-10 months. Back then, there were no cellphones. Letters and calling when you pulled into port, and my wife and I made it. We were married at 21, 30 years ago and still together. How we made it work was that I would send her home to be around family while I was deployed. I missed a lot, family deaths, holidays, and a child birth. I saw my youngest for the first time when she was 5 months old. It can be done as long as you both want it to work. Make sure to communicate about this. Best of luck to you two.
