1. I appreciate your comment, as someone who has sorta been all over the place, it is a helpful perspective. But my thought is that, the BF writing this note is PART of the work needed to become a person who is able to be in a safe/stable/heathy relationship after having experienced otherwise. I’ve heard comparisons made about me vs. exes… and I’ve also written notes like the one in the post. It’s hard both ways. Basically “am I actually good enough?” Versus “I liked ex because of x reasons, I miss the rush, but I know I shouldn’t/it wasn’t good for me.”

   For the latter— IIMO, once you’re able to recognize and write out tough feelings, that’s when healing starts. And that’s when you start becoming the person you want to be, which hopefully includes further growth and passion shared with your chosen partner. (It’s a long road and I’m not qualified to give advice, but it hits close to home and I wish all here the best.)
