It bothers me when someone is trying to cope with issues they face and that's then used against them in such a way like snooping around.
And what he wrote, especially under certain conditions, is more than understandable as a concern for times where you feel down. Passionate and exciting is fun and all, but the older you grow the more you are looking for a relationship that lasts. This of course doesn't mean you either have a lasting or a passionate relationship, but I assume you get the point. If someone stays with you, you are almost always the best choice for them, but everything can have downsides to it. But that doesn't mean it makes something bad.
