   Are you really that shocked that it turned out this way for you here? Clearly, he didn't approve of this guy, and you disregarded his opinion and even thought less of him because of it. That undoubtedly showed in your behavior, he took note of it, and then eventually had enough. None of this should be a surprise to you.

   But I also feel cheated in that we had agreed to this open relationship and suddenly the rules changed.

   The rules didn't change, you just manipulated your way into a situation he no longer wanted to be apart of.
